Top of the World by the All American Rejects
Is there anybody out there? That wakes up with a bitter taste? It's a king that we put up there And he's a short way to fall from grace It's slowly filling upward. You can stand but you have no ground. I hear it from the lost words. They say it's time that you lost your crown.
Don't be so greedy. A dollar's a penny to you When hearts are beating Say what you want 'em to do. Wasting away... I see you. When the top of the world falls on you Finding a day, don't wanna be you When the top of the world falls on you
Is there anybody out there? That can see what a man can change? It's better that you don't care Because he knows that he's in his state I feel the paranoia. When there's a time, put you in your place In the eyes of those who watch ya Well they can wait 'til you hit your face
Don't be so greedy. A dollar's a penny to you When hearts are beating Say what you want 'em to do. Wasting away... I see you. When the top of the world falls on you Finally a day, don't wanna be you. When the top of the world falls on you
Paint yourself a picture When you waste another picture And you win, and you win, and you win Paint yourself a picture And then you break another picture And you win, and you win, and you win And you win, yeah you win, and you win
Don't be so greedy A dollar's a penny to you When hearts stop beating Say what you want 'em to do Wasting away... I see you When the top of the world falls on you Finding a day, don't wanna be you When the top of the world falls on you
Wasting away... I see you When the top of the world falls on you Finding a day, don't wanna be you When the top of the world falls on you

I'll not listen to Patwak and sing another song from Wicked... Popular:
GALINDA (spoken)Elphie, now that we're friends, I've decided to make you my new project.
ELPHABA (spoken) You really don't have to do that
GALINDA (spoken) I know. That's what makes me so nice! (sung) Whenever I see someone Less fortunate than I (And let's face it - who isn't Less fortunate than I?) My tender heart Tends to start to bleed And when someone needs a makeover I simply have to take over I know I know exactly what they need And even in your case Tho' it's the toughest case I've yet to face Don't worry - I'm determined to succeed Follow my lead And yes, indeed You will be:
Popular! You're gonna be popular! I'll teach you the proper ploys When you talk to boys Little ways to flirt and flounce I'll show you what shoes to wear How to fix your hair Everything that really counts
To be popular I'll help you be popular! You'll hang with the right cohorts You'll be good at sports Know the slang you've got to know So let's start 'Cause you've got an awfully long way to go:
Don't be offended by my frank analysis Think of it as personality dialysis Now that I've chosen to be come a pal, a Sister and adviser There's nobody wiser Not when it comes to popular - I know about popular And with an assist from me To be who you'll bee Instead of dreary who-you-were: are: There's nothing that can stop you From becoming popu- Ler: lar:
La la la la We're gonna make You popular
When I see depressing creatures With unprepossessing features I remind them on their own behalf To think of Celebrated heads of state or Specially great communicators Did they have brains or knowledge? Don't make me laugh!
They were popular! Please - It's all about popular! It's not about aptitude It's the way you're viewed So it's very shrewd to be Very very popular Like me!
(spoken) Why, Miss Elphaba, look at you. You're beautiful.
ELPHABA(spoken) I - I have to go:
GALINDA (spoken) You're welcome! (sung) And though you protest Your disinterest I know clandestinely You're gonna grin and bear it Your new found popularity La la la la You'll be popular - Just not as quite as popular As me!

Wow. I can't believe that Glinda tried to help Elphaba. I really want to read Wicked now.

Music Box by Thrice
we move for all mankind, a million miles from everything we've ever known and we're on their hearts and minds, a million heads are bowed to bring us safely home hemmed up by emptiness, a million ways that everything could be undone this hollow in my chest is filled with reason not to sing but I found one, I know
we are not alone, we feel an unseen love we are sons and heirs of grace we are children of a light that never dims a love that never dies, keep your chin up child and wipe the tears from your eyes
in sleep we saw ourselves, a million years we had been waiting there it seems while someone weaves a spell, a million stars look on to witness our dreams
we feel an unseen love we are children of light stand ready and tall, reflect the light

Let's continue the Wizard of Oz mood...
(Tin Man) When a man's an empty kettle He should be on his mettle And yet I'm torn apart Just because I'm presumin' That I could be kind of human If I only had a heart
I'd be tender, I'd be gentle And awful sentimental Regarding love and art I'd be friends with the sparrows And the boy that shoots the arrows If I only had a heart
Picture me a balcony Above a voice sings low
(Snow White) Wherefore art thou, Romeo?
(Tin Man) I hear a beat, how sweet!
Just to register emotion, jealousy, devotion And really feel the part I could stay young and chipper And I'd lock it with a zipper If I only had a heart

They never really stopped being friends, patwak. They just didn't talk for a while(in the book at least) because Glinda had given the shoes to Dorothy and Nessa(Wicked witch of the East and Elphie's sister) had said that when she died, Elphie could have the shoes. I think in the musical they are always friends, cus of the song For Good. They are talkin' bout being changed for good because they knew each other.

And the mood goes on and on...
(Cowardly Lion) Yeah, it's sad, believe me Missy When you're born to be a sissy Without the vim and verve But I could show my prowess Be a lion, not a mowess If I only had the nerve
I'm afraid there's no denyin' I'm just a dandylion A fate I don't deserve I'd be brave as a blizzard
(Tin Man) I'd be gentle as a lizard
(Scarecrow) I'd be clever as a gizzard
(Dorothy) If the Wizard is a wizard who will serve
(Scarecrow) Then I'm sure to get a brain
(Tin Man) A heart
(Dorothy) A home
(Cowardly Lion) The nerve

I know...here we go again!
You're out of the woods You're out of the dark You're out of the night Step into the sun, step into the light Keep straight ahead For the most glorious place On the Face of the Earth Or the sky
Hold onto your breath Hold onto your heart Hold onto your hope March up to the gate And bid it open

Fire Coming Out Of A Monkey's Head by Gorillaz
Once upon a time at the foot of a great mountain, there was a town where the people known as Happyfolk lived. Their very existence a mystery to the rest of the world. Obscured, as it was, by great clouds. Here they played out their peaceful lives, innocent of the litany of excess and violence that was growing in the world below. To live in harmony with the spirit of the mountain called Monkey was enough. Then one day, Strangefolk arrived in the town. They came in camouflage, hidden behind dark glasses, but no one noticed them. They only saw shadows. you see, without the truth of the eyes the Happyfolk were blind...
Falling out of airplanes and hiding out in holes. Waiting for the sunset to come, people going home. Jump out from behind them and shoot them in the head. Now everybody dancing, the dance of the dead, the dance of the dead. the dance of the dead...
In time, the Strangefolk found their way into the higher reaches of the mountain, and it was there that they found the Caves of Unimaginable Sincerity and Beauty. By chance, they stumbled upon The Place Where All Good Souls Come to Rest. The Strangefolk, they coveted the jewels in these caves above all things, and soon they began to mine the mountain, its rich seam fuelling the chaos of their own world.
Meanwhile, down in the town, the Happyfolk slept restlessly, their dreams invaded by shadowy figures digging away at their souls. Every day, people would wake and stare at the mountain. Why was it bringing darkness into their lives?
And as the strange folk mined deeper and deeper into the mountain, holes began to appear, bringing with them a cold and bitter wind that chilled the very soul of the Monkey. For the first time, the Happyfolk felt fearful, for they knew that soon the monkey would stir from its deep sleep. Then there came a sound, distant *at first, that grew into a *castrophony so immense, that it could be heard far away in space. There were no screams. There was no time. The mountain called monkey had spoken. There was only fire. And then, nothing...
Oh little town in USA, the time has come to see there's nothing you believe you want but where were you when it all came down on me? Did you call me out?

More wizard of oz...
(Glinda) Come out, come out wherever you are And meet the young lady who fell from a star She fell from the sky, she fell very far And Kansas she says is the name of the star
(Munchkins) Kansas she says is the name of the star
(Glinda) She brings you good news, or haven't you heard When she fell out of Kansas a miracle occurred
(Dorothy) It really was no miracle What happened was just this: The wind began to switch the house to pitch And suddenly the hinges started to unhitch Just then the witch, to satisfy an itch Went flying on her broomstick thumbing for a hitch
(Munchkin Man) And oh what happened then was rich
(Munchkins) The house began to pitch, the kitchen took a slitch It landed on the wicked witch in the middle of a ditch Which was not a healthy situation for the wicked witch
The house began to pitch, the kitchen took a slitch It landed on the wicked witch in the middle of a ditch Which was not a healthy situation for the wicked witch Who began to twitch, and was reduced to just a stitch Of what was once the wicked witch
(Munchkin 1) We thank you very sweetly for doing it so neatly
(Munchkin 2) You've killed her so completely That we thank you very sweetly
(Glinda) Let the joyous news be spread The wicked, old witch at last is dead
(Munchkins) Ding-dong the witch is dead Which old witch? The wicked witch Ding-dong the wicked witch is dead Wake up you sleepyhead Rub your eyes, get out of bed Wake up the wicked witch is dead She's gone where the goblins go Below - below - below Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low Let them know the Wicked Witch is dead
(Mayor) As mayor of the Munchkin City In the county of the land of Oz I welcome you most regally
(Judge) But we've got to verify it legally To see...
(Mayor) To see...
(Judge) If she...
(Mayor) If she...
(Judge) Is morally, ethically
(Munchkin 1) Spiritually, physically
(Munchkin 2) Positively, absolutely
(Munchkin Men) Undeniably and reliably dead
(Coroner) As Coroner , I thoroughly examined her And she's not only merely dead She's really most sincerely dead
(Mayor) Then this is a day of independence for all the munchkins And their descendants Yes, let the joyous news be spread The wicked old witch at last is dead
(Lullaby League) We represent the Lullaby League The Lullaby League, the Lullaby League And in the name of the Lullaby League We wish to welcome you to Munchkin Land
(Lollipop Guild) We represent the Lollipop Guild The Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild And in the name of the Lollipop Guild We wish to welcome you to Munchkin Land
(Munchkins) We welcome you to Munchkin Land Tra la la la la la la la la la la la
(Munchkin 1) From now on you'll be history
(Munchkin 2) You'll be his...
(Munchkin 3) You'll be his...
(Munchkin 4) You'll be history
(Munchkin 1) And we will glorify your name You will be a bust...
(Munchkin 2) Be a bust...
(Munchkin 3) Be a bust...
(All) In the hall of fame Tra la la la la la la la la la la Tra la la la la la la Tra la la la la la la la la la la Tra la la la la la la

^I love that song!
And the Gorillaz are creepy...because they aren't even a real band...but they're songs are like full of subliminal messages or something...that makes almost everyone like them...it's weird that I like them...because the Goriallaz really freak me out...
